Esports at Catholic University

Catholic University offers an expanding Esports program to fit anyone's gaming interests! We offer competitive Esports teams, as well as recreational gaming hours in our Esports Lounge. Whether you are looking to keep it casual, or compete at a collegiate level - our Esports club can help you to do both!

 

Competitive Teams

We have 6 competitive Esports teams at Catholic University. Our teams play in several different leagues, and across Division I-III competition. Check out our teams below, and their upcoming schedules!

 

Recreational Gaming

The Esports Lounge is located in the Edward J. Pryzbyla Center in Room 224. We host 12 state of the art Alienware computers for use during recreational gaming hours. 

Students are able to use our 12 gaming computers, 2 TVs, 3 Nintendo switches, 2 Occulus VR headsets, 1 PS5,1 XBox X, and various accessories to game recreationally during open hours.

  • Esports Lounge Rules

    Computer Use & Reservations

    • All users must swipe in with their cardinal card
    • Computers are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
      • Computers will be reserved in advance by lounge staff for competitive team matches.
    • Food & Drink are not allowed at the computer stations.
    • Users may not install games that are not on the existing marketplace platforms.
      • All requests for new games should be emailed to cuaesports@gmail.com
    • You must return all borrowed equipment to Lounge Staff.

    Conduct

    • Show respect to all gamers, both in the lounge and virtually
    • No inappropriate language, hate speech or discrimminatory language is allowed.
    • Toxicity, cheating, betting, bullying, or illegal activity is not allowed.
    • The esports lounge is a welcoming and inclusive space, all users should conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the University student code of conduct.

  • Hours of Operation

    The Esports Lounge is open during the school year at the following times: 

    Monday-Friday:
    3:00PM-11:00PM

    Saturday & Sunday:
    4:00PM-8:00PM

     

    Holiday hours will be limited, and will be posted on social media (@cuaesports) and on flyers in the lounge.
