  • Coaches

Coach Joe Bieda began his competitive League of Legends career at his alma mater, the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), where he competed as a student-athlete before transitioning into coaching during his senior year.

In 2018, he was consulted to help launch the esports program at The Catholic University of America and was brought on the same year as the League of Legends Head Coach. Since then, he has played a key role in developing the program's competitive foundation and team culture.

Beyond the collegiate level, he has coached professional terams in Europe for approximately four years, working across multiple regional leagues. Most notably, he coached in the Northern League of Legends Championship (NLC), gaining high-level international experience that he now brings back to support and elevate Catholic's student-athletes.

Coach Jack Mastrantoni is a former student-athlete on The Catholic University of America's League of Legends team and a member of the class of 2023. During his time as a player, he contributed to the program's continued growth and competitive development.

After graduating, he was invited by the team's head coach to return and join the coaching staff, bringing his firsthand experience and deep understanding of the program's culture to a leadership role.

As a recent alum and former competitor, he offers valuable perspective to current players, helping guide both in-game strategy and team development while continuing to stregthen the League of Legends program.
